The Elk Ridge Basic Survival Kit is an essential for any outdoor adventure. All too often when we plan our next epic outdoor adventure. We make sure to pack plenty of water, food, and other essentials. What we alwauys fail to prepare for is the event of a true emergency. When your hiking your favorite trail in the mountains, a bayou, or even your favorite rock formations in the desert. The idea of being stranded overnight by a freak storm never crosses your mind. Even tough you have heard the stories, and religously checked weather reports for your adventure. You always think to yourself that it will not happen to me. So you head out to hike and climb your favorite rock formations in the desert. You have spent the day exploring the desert rock formations. You notice that it is going to be dusk very soon, but something catches your eye in the far distance. The undeniable impending squal line heading your way with waves of thunder and lightening. You take shelter from the impending storm in a large crevice of the rocks. After the storm passes, the dark storm clouds are replaced by the darkness of night.

You make a quick inventory of your survival supplies. You have enough water and food till morning, but what about heat to prevent hyperthermia from the ccold of the desert's night. What do you do? Hunker down and hope for the best. If you had packed your Elk Ridge Basic Survival Kit, you would have been ready to utlize the flashlight in your kit to dearch for firewood. The saw in your kit would have been ready to help you cut through the wet wood, and matches to start your fire. The kit also includes the very basic of first aid to treat minor scrapes or cuts.
